GamePoint at Casual Connect Amsterdam

Casual Connect is coming to Amsterdam, The Netherlands from 11 to 13 February. GamePoint will traditionally attend as a Platinum Sponsor.

Not only are we their to attend lectures and meet interesting partners to improve our views on acquisition, analytics and general strategy. We will also actively contribute to make Casual Connect Amsterdam one of the more succesful events in Casual Connect history. Read further to find out how exactly we will be doing that.

First of all we will be contributing to the event with hosting not one but TWO of the sessions on the second day of the conference.

The fun starts with GamePoint’s President and Founder Amon Endt taking the audience on a journey through the relationships that came to life on GamePoint’s multiplayer gaming platform during the 15 years of its existence. The session called: “Relationships, Marriages and Babies: Extreme Customer Lifetime in Casual or Social Games” will tell you all about the wonderful things that have happend in these 15 years. Attending will learn you why and how multiplayer has shaped GamePoint as a company and what the meaning of “Extreme Customer Lifetime” really is.

The session will be held in the Berlagezaal and is on Wednesday February 12 from 3:00 to 3:30 pm.

Later that day at 4:30 pm the stage of the same room will be filled with veterans of the multiplayer gaming scene for a panel session called; “The Merits of Multiplayer”. GamePoint’s Director of Business Development Rik Haandrikman will be joined by Micha van der Meer (Exit Games), Alfonso Villar (Playspace.com), Jan-Mitchel Saaksmeier (Bigpoint) and Phil Mansell (Jagex). Paul Heydon of Avista Partners will act as host and make sure all the secrets of multiplayer gaming are spilled by the members of the panel.

Make sure to attend. Berlagezaal, 4:30 to 5:20 pm on Wednesday February 12.

After the second day of the Conference it will be time for a party! With Casual Connect coming to GamePoint’s home country it was decided we HAD to be hosting a party. That’s why GamePoint proudly presents “GOLD!” the richest party in Casual Connect history. The party will be held at Amsterdam’s primier party spot Club Air. Famous Dutch DJ acts will take the stage as you enjoy drinks on us and come across all the amazing entertainment we will release into the crowd during the party (Don’t worry, no live animals will be hurt during our party). GamePoint at Casual Connect San Francisco

From 30 July until 1 August the casual gaming industry will gather at the Hilton San Francisco. GamePoint will also be there as Gold Sponsors of the event. Our company’s growing user base in the U.S. territory and finding the right partners to grow this even further will be the main focus of our attendance in San Francisco. GamePoint to speak at GameConnection America

Rik Haandrikman, GamePoint’s Director of Business Development, will be speaking at GameConnection America 2013. Rik’s session will take place on Tuesday March 26th from 2:00 to 2:50 p.m. (PST) at the Sir Francis Drake Hotel in San Francisco. The session, named: ‘Shoestringing your way to a global presence’ will explain attendees how to grow a mid-sized gaming company into a globally known player on a tight budget.

Founded in The Netherlands back in 1998, GamePoint has been around for a while. After launching an online gaming platform for the Dutch market, the company grew into Holland’s prime destination for real time multiplayer online social gaming. After this initial success the company went looking for international growth. Using no outside funding, the company bootstrapped its way to an international gaming company now entertain millions of users from all over the world every month.

At GameConnection America, Rik will tell you all about GamePoint’s road to success and the tough choices the company has had to make to get where they are today. A must attend for any company in the gaming industry looking for the most cost efficient way to grow!

Rik’s Bio
After spending quite a lot of time (10 years) doing a (very) wide selection of (very) different studies while working freelance in the music, event and graphic design industry, GamePoint managed to finally tie Rik down to an office in 2008.

After a short stretch at Community Management for GamePoint’s Dutch casual gaming portal, Rik quickly made the transition to the sale of advertising space on Spelpunt.nl combined with the acquisition of new partner websites. His success in this department resulted in rapid promotion from junior account manager, to senior account manager, sales manager and after a position in international business development, sales and marketing, finally Rik became director of business development.

By running GamePoint’s marketing and sales departments Rik has acquired extensive knowledge of digital marketing, the international media business and has built an impressive network of relations with key decision makers in a range of fortune 500 companies.

GamePoint at GDC San Francisco

GamePoint will be attending the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco. From 25 till 29 March we will be in the San Francisco area to learn about some great businesses and ofcourse to showcase GamePoint’s games.

Why meet with us? Our games have been growing on and off of Facebook for pretty much whole 2012 and there are no signs of this slowing down. We are in the process of launching our first Ipad game and are looking for partners to make this a success.
